Who we are

This website is run by DO Education, an international education consultancy based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you send an inquiry through our contact form, we collect:

• Your full name
• Your phone or WhatsApp number
• Your email address
• Your preferred study destination
• Your highest qualification

Information from other channels

If you contact us by WhatsApp, phone, email or social media, we receive whatever you choose to share in that conversation, such as your name, number and messages.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand how many people visit the site and how quickly pages load. These tools collect anonymous, aggregated information (for example, which pages are viewed and the type of device) and do not use cookies to identify you.

How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

• Our email provider, which delivers form inquiries to our counselling team
• WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to continue the conversation there
• Universities, colleges and accommodation partners, only when you ask us to apply or book on your behalf
• Government or visa authorities, only as part of an application you ask us to make, or where the law requires it

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights) are cookieless, and the admin area uses a login cookie that is only set for signed-in staff. If you embed or follow links to third-party services such as YouTube or Google Maps, those providers may set their own cookies under their own policies.

Student success stories

We sometimes publish student success stories on this website — written reviews, photos and videos that may include a student's name, course, university and image.

We only publish a story when the student has given us their consent to do so. If you are featured and would like your story changed or removed, contact us using the details below and we will take it down promptly.

Where we store your information

Inquiries are delivered to our team by email. Website content we manage — events and consent-approved student success stories — is stored in a secure, access-controlled cloud database and media store (Supabase). These services may process and store data on servers outside Sri Lanka; where that happens, we rely on reputable providers that apply appropriate security safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it to help you with your inquiry or application, and to meet any legal or record-keeping obligations. Published success stories are kept until you ask us to remove them or we no longer need them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices and rights

Under Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, you can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, withdraw your consent, or stop contacting you. To do this, contact us using the details below and we will respond as soon as we can.

Keeping your information safe

The website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection. Inquiries are accessible only to our team, and the content manager is protected by individual staff logins with database access controls so that only authorised staff can view or change stored content. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
